Ultrafiltration is an effective process that converts polluted water to high-quality portable water. It is parƟcularly suited for
treatment of polluted surface water from dams, river and reservoirs as well as wastewater recovery. UF modules use a
large number of small pore capillaries of about 0.03 microns to remove particles, organic and inorganic contaminants. The
process does not remove dissolved salts such as sodium, calcium and chlorides and thus not suitable for borehole water
that has high salt levels. Ultrafiltration is a high recovery process only requires periodic backwashing and air scouring to
remove contaminants with a chemical cleaning agent. This process is fully automated using solenoid valves and backwash
pump with timer.
BW
-UF plants are modular in construction and various sizes can be fabricated by combining a series of modules in parallel.
The system is supplied skid mounted on a base
-frame including membranes, automated control of plant operation for backwash, rinsing and normal operation change over as well as alarms to indicate system operations. System operation is PLC
controlled. Other features include · High-efficiency pumps for feed, backwash and cleaning · Dosing pumps for chlorine and cleaning agents, a scouring and backwash system · Flow meters and pressure gauges for monitoring · Pre-filter 150 Micron.
BW
-UF systems provide an efficient and economic solution where pure, portable water is required in significant volumes
with low maintenance costs.
